Red Carpet & Vanity Fair Party Will Smith
Yesterday we were all shocked by Will Smith's blow to Chris Rock in the middle of the ceremony, we were surprised when they destroyed the song We Don't Talk About Bruno by overshadowing the original cast and ending up listening to Luis Fonsi, Becky G and Megan Thee Stallion. We had unexpected winners and a ceremony that is barely trying to regain the relevance it once had.
But what happened before and after the ceremony was very interesting. We stopped seeing the classic long or pompous dresses to make way for a new generation of actors and actresses with quite interesting proposals. Were there iconic looks ? Of course there were. The most worn designers yesterday? Dior, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, followed by Maison Valentino, Prada, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta.
Now, let's look at the dresses, which in my opinion, were the most memorable and in passing we will review if the colors of the season took over the ceremony.
Academy Awards Red Carpet
The red carpet started a bit early, so when I started to check each look , there were already more than 50 actors and actresses on the carpet; but well, as we had checked a couple of weeks ago, the trending colors were red, pink, yellow, green, baby blue and fuchsia; and guess what, putting aside the classic black and white, we found reds, pinks and greens.
Strawberry Cream (Pantone 13-2005)
Now, my favorites from the gala? Difficult to answer. Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli, Lupita Nyong'o in Prada, Carolina Gaitan in Tony Ward Couture, Jessica Chastain in Gucci and Zendaya in Valentino.
Vanity Fair Oscar Party
I must confess that I liked the dresses we saw at the Vanity Fair party much better. Well, here is my opinion. Please note that we are commenting on the dress and not on the actresses' bodies.
The best
Sarah Paulson in Bottega Veneta, Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior, Hunter Schafer in Rick Owens, Zendaya in Sportmax and Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent.
The interesting thing
Emily Ratajkowski in Armani Privé, Kendall Jenner in Balenciaga, Kim Kardashian in Balenciaga, Ciara in Nathan David Adams and Julia Fox in Han Kjøbenhavn.
The least beautiful
Janelle Monáe in Christian Siriano, Kristen Stewart in Chanel, Heidi Klum in AZ Factory, Barbie Ferreira in Fendi and Kourtney Kardashian in a Vintage Dolce&Gabbana
Now, we wait until next Sunday for the Grammys .
